Hmm you have touched a very good point to research ilayaraaja's enormous brilliant work...

இளையநிலா of இளையராஜா also somewhat a "No prelude" or can say "Human Honey voice" mixed prelude i.e our spbbbbbbbbbbbs voicuuuuuu

ilayarajas single c#m chord also act as a beautiful prelude in EnnaSatham (if there is no rule for a prelude) silently proves him why he is genius.. C#m gives leads for singer spb to start the song. Like "Paarvai ondre pOdhume" for IRs fans, "single notes ondre podhume" that 1 note itself speaks a lot of that sad raagaaaa

Even "Kodiyile MalligaPoo" from movie Kadalora Kavithaigal a no prelude song... Here also he fills his beautiful lead helper notes so that it eill be easy for singers when to start the song timing... "toi toi toi Kodiyile" "toi toi toi MalligaPoo" toi toi toi Manakude, ......
