i saw a fender once in reynolds (LEFTY take note) and it was for 23000/-

visit braganza's music shop near free school street. they have their own factory and makes clones of imported guitars and also custome-made ones. there you will get the best quality guitar an indian manufacturer can make,

 

My two cents

I have been out of kolkata for a while now (about 8 years). However, my experience with Braganza was terrific while I was there. I think Sunny (I think that was the name of the guy who managed the store and was the son of the owner) has a decent knowledge about any stringed instruments. Also, their guitar qualities are quite good as mentioned by Sayan. They started importing Gibson acoustic and electric guitars during the time I left kolkata. But when I visited kolkata back in 2000 december, I found that they were making almost identical mimics of those gibson/fender guitars themselves. I strongly recommend Braganza. Do not get bogged down by the looks of the store. The last time I went there, it still had the run down look. I am not sure if they had some renovation work, however, they have a decent pool of customers. Calcutta school of music (managed by abraham mazumder) sends all their students their for purchases and so does Banichakra.

Guitar Braganza theke kine jodi amp aar processor lalbazar theke kinish tahole khub sosta porbe. Braganza sab kichur daam beshi nay.

 

or better, if you have a relative in the us, buy it on the internet from sites like www.zzounds.com and then get your relative to bring it here. that way its almost 40-50% cheaper.
